My Dream is a sponsorship programme through which SFCG assists students to obtain financial aid from institutions and companies to sponsor their education.

We also engage individuals and groups of people who are interested and willing to
support our learners from the basic level to the ultimate level. Some of such institutions
are the GETFund, Ashesi University and Black Star Excellence.

GETFund 

The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) provides financial aid to disadvantaged
students who are successful in their application bids. From inception, we have
supported seven (7) of our students to acquire financial aid from the GETFund.

Ellen and Felicity have acquired their first degrees (BSc) at the Universities of Ghana, Legon,
Accra and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST),
Kumasi in Nursing and Midwifery and Land Economy respectively. They are currently offering their services to the nation; Ellen at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra and  Felicity at the Dormaa Ahenkro branch of the Ghana Commercial Bank.

Sherifa is in her fifth year at the KNUST medical school, Samuella is pursuing her
Master’s degree in Public Health at the Presbyterian University, Agogo.

Olivia, Gifty and Paschallia are in their final year at the University of Cape-Coast
(Biochemistry), KNUST (Political Science) and University of Ghana (Humanities),
respectively.

Individual Sponsors

Three friends of SFCG have fully sponsored and are still sponsoring our students.

Ellen has obtained her BSc degree in midwifery at KNUST and is currently serving her
nation at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra. Reine is a final year physician assistant
student at the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho and Melchizedek and
Methuselah (twins) are in their second year at the University of Cape-Coast. They are
Population and Health and Computer Science students, respectively.

Ashesi University

Ashesi University is a private tertiary institution located at Berekuso in the Greater Accra
Region that offers financial aid to brilliant but disadvantaged students. Three of our
students, are scholars on the Mastercard Foundation programme at the university. 
 
Judith and Mabel are in their final year. Mabel is a Management Information Systems
student and Judith is a Business Administration student. Vanessa is also a Business
Administration student in her second year.

Black Star Excellence

The founders of Black Star Excellence (BSE) are Ghanaian women based in Los
Angeles and Washington DC in the United States of America (USA). They have
professional backgrounds in public health and health care, engineering,
entrepreneurship and journalism.
They leverage their unique perspectives and personal ties to Ghana and the USA to
benefit the educational advancement of Ghanaian students through scholarship and
professional mentorship.
They collaborate with SFCG’s My Dream programme to provide crucial financial support
to gifted children with economic challenges so they can pursue their DREAMS worry
free. 
Their first sponsored physician assistant student, Kezia is in her final year at the
university of health and allied sciences, Ho.
BSE is also funding the four-year university education of the entire third cohort of six
young ladies in various universities in Ghana. They are all in their second year at
different universities in Ghana.

The MY DREAM programme is currently running concurrently at the basic and tertiary
levels. SFCG is operating in three basic schools. The academic needs including
uniforms and fees and other social programmes of selected children are being provided
for. It is interesting and fulfilling journeying through these fishing communities, not only
to enjoy the fresh breeze of the Atlantic Ocean but put smiles on the faces of our
eighteen young generals from Chorkor and James Town.
