We appeal to institutions, companies, families or individuals to come to the aid of our
needy students.
Sponsorship or donations may be done in two ways.

1. Complete sponsorship of an individual or more students. This will include the
   students’ tuition, other fees, uniforms and any other miscellaneous expenses
   from the basic level to the tertiary level and beyond.

2. Sponsoring our programmes is a way of assisting us to shape our students to be
   assertive and diligent. All our students attend public schools with large class
   sizes of about 75 children to a teacher. With such large class sizes, it is not easy
   for a teacher to have a one-on-one interaction with his/her students. Our
   programmes complement what they learn at school.

The I MADE IT programme of Smile for Child, Ghana has been divided into four
modules.

1. Character Building Lessons

Our resource persons engage the students once a week on the following core values.

i. Refinement
ii. Resilience
iii. Responsibility
iv. Resourcefulness

These core values as stated earlier are to nurture the girls to be assertive and diligent.

 

Needs
i. Stipends for resource persons and volunteers who take the children through
the core values.
ii. A mini bus to convey resource persons and volunteers to and from the
various schools.
iii. Logistics in running the bus.

 

 

2. Community Service
This is aimed at instilling in the children the value of selflessness. They will learn the importance of giving back to society and contributing positively to their communities. Activities such as plastic recycling and waste segregation in their schools and neighbourhoods will also teach them the importance of keeping their environment clean, tidy, and hygienic.

i. Logistics such as tools and kits for gathering the waste.

ii. Stipends for resource persons.

 

3. Vacation Literacy Skills
The main purpose is to keep the children positively engaged and away from mischief. Apart from problem-solving and reasoning activities, they are given books to read and asked to identify and write down new words along with their meanings.

i. Get more literature books and dictionaries for the children.

4. Educational Trips
Most of our children live within close-knit communities and rarely venture beyond their immediate surroundings. These trips help broaden their perspective on life and provide valuable exposure to new experiences and environments.
