Through the support of Black Star Excellence (BSE), SFCG scholars are pursuing diverse and impactful careers across Ghana. This partnership provides not only financial assistance but also mentorship and encouragement — enabling students to thrive academically and personally.

Kezia, a member of SFCG’s second cohort, graduated as a Physician Assistant from the University of Health and Allied Sciences in December 2025.
Her success is a reflection of dedication, hard work, and the transformative power of support through BSE.
Our THREE KNUST Students
Regina
My name is Regina Boafowaah. I am currently a third-year student pursuing BSC in
Food Science and Technology at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and
Technology (KNUST).
I was admitted to this prestigious institution through the support of SFCG and BSE.
The financial support and mentorship program from SFCG and BSE has enabled me to
progress confidently in my studies and focus on achieving academic excellence.
Food Science and Technology has also broadened my understanding of food, showing
me that it is not only about cooking and consumption, but a scientific field that studies
food safety, nutrition, product development and proper processing and its wider impact
on public health and society.
My sincere appreciation to SFCG and BSE for their continued investment in my studies
and financial needs. Your care and love greatly inspire me to work diligently, strive for
academic excellence and make the most of this invaluable opportunity.
Thank you for your time and continued guidance.

Emmanuella's Story
Amazing grace, how can it be?
Indeed, I have come this far by the Grace of God and abundant favour, supported by
the extreme kindness of Black Star Excellence (BSE) and Smile for Child Ghana
(SFCG).
First, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all my sponsors for your amazing
support and love. My time at the University of Cape Coast has been quite a journey.
While the transition from level 100 to 200 was relatively smooth, moving into level 300
presented its own set of challenges. Ultimately, this experience has shown me that life
is full of ups and downs.
Choosing B.Sc. Actuarial Science was a major step toward my career fulfilment. Truth
be told, the course is as demanding as it sounds; it has proven to me that excelling
depends on a process of extra hard work and the courage required to succeed.
Currently, level 300 is “smiling” at me and proving that there can be greater
achievements even after a major setback. I will come out with flying colours. I will draw
strength in the saying that “Hard work pays” and I boldly believe that with the help of
God, my latter days shall be greater than my former. Again, with SFCG’s constant
mentorship, and BSE assistance, I will surely smile at the end of the story.
SMILE………….…I MADE IT.
